It looks like a deck!

Last weekend we were able to get the first half of the boards attached.  I spent most of my day UNDER this deck because the boards have to be screwed in from the bottom.  This would explain why I couldn't lift my arms on Sunday.

Other half is done.  Eric decided to take a day off because the temp was a high of 80 today and we don't have too many more nice work days... we started at 9:00 this morning and ended about 6:00 tonight.  We are tired but made a lot of progress.

Of course we have posers for the photo... they want to do cartwheels on the deck!

The big bad beam!

The neighbor guys coming over to help get the beam on... it's only about 30 feet long and really heavy.  Eric told me not to take pictures.. hee hee

And it is done.. at least the structure is.  We have passed inspection and now we can put the deck boards on and the railing and the stairs... and October starts in 3 days so here is hoping the weather holds out for us.

A little rest on the "deck" (you can see my house paint samples behind him... more to come on that).

Happy Fathers Day

We had dinner at Roger and Sharon's house for Father's Day.  We bought some Prime Sirloin at Costco and it was soooooo yummy.

The girls love to play chess with Grandpa Hubbard... and they really think about their moves.  I on the other hand have no idea nor interest in playing chess but it's awesome that they like to do it.

Hairball!!!

Hairball is a band that does cover tunes from all of the hair bands from the 1980's.  They even dress the part.  We had a blast.

Eric turns 40!!

Eric turned 40 on the 24th!  It's hard to believe we are that OLD... actually it's not that old, I used to think so but now that my time is coming in 8 months, it's not so old!

I made cupcakes to take to Eric's work for him.  I made him a little paranoid by sneaking letters to his co-workers and sending emails.  He was worried that I was throwing him another surprise party like his 30th!  He doesn't like to be the center of attention so I was nice this time... maybe I'll get him at 50????

This was really fun and SUPER easy to make.  I baked a cake in a 9x13 pan and sketched the symbol with a knife, the cake was just a tad bit warm and it came out of the pan perfect!

We went out for dinner at Smokey D's BBQ with Katy, RJ and Brock Parks.  They are the "other"voices singing Happy Birthday!

Lauren Teaches Daddy to Hula Hoop!

I may get in trouble for posting this video but it is SOOOO funny.  Eric bought Lauren and Elise a hula hoop.  Lauren taught herself at school apparently... we have never seen her do this and she is like the energizer bunny... she keeps going... and going... and going....

A few of my favorites... and Eric's too!

These are some important/fun ones to both Eric and I.  Of course we have to start off with IU!

The girls and I made home-made ornaments this year and they picked out this one for Daddy!

This IU ornament was made by my good friend Deb Smith.  She is quite the wood worker.

This was when we went up to Lake Tahoe with Deb and Pat Smith in 2003.  It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and we had SOOO much fun on that trip.

This is from... can you guess???  One of our many trips to Vegas (pre-children).  We went there on our Honeymoon and many times after, I think it may be time to head back out there!

I love this ornament because it so represents growing up in the 70's.  Its soft fuzzy felt like fur is so cute and it reminds me of when I was a little kid myself.

This was from Eric's grandma Virginia Hubbard.  She gave him an ornament every year and I think this one is sooo cool.  He would have been 3 years old when he got this.

This is from my trip to San Antonio, Texas with my best friend Jennifer Wadle.  We went down for the National PA conference... a good time for sure.

This is one of the few ornaments I have that was my mom's.  She hand painted this one.  I think Mollie has a few similar to this one.  A sign of the times.
