Happy Birthday Elise!!

My sweet, sweet Elise turned 8 today!  She is growing up all too fast for me.  I took her out for lunch today, she chose McDonalds, of course.  We had such a busy night so we made treats for her cheerleading friends at practice tonight.  My birthday is on Halloween so we are going to have a dual party then.
A few of her favorite things right now:
   1.  JUSTICE-  if you have never been in this store.. don't do it.  It's bursting with tweens, loud colors and inappropriate clothing!
   2.  Cheerleading-  She started this year and absolutely loves it.  I think she has found her thing finally.  Although she did say she wanted to play basketball again... so that is good.
   3.  Her favorite color is blue.
  4.  She loves Maroon 5 and Justin Beiber for singers.  She listens to Delilah everynight on the radio to go to sleep to.
   5.  She loves fashion and loves to wear her Ugg boots (which are really from Wal-mart).
   6.  She still has her egg, milk and nut allergy but she is a trooper wherever she goes.  I always make sure she has a least something close as the other kids for birthdays etc... assuming I know about it.
   7.  She is getting better with her reading everyday, she gets a little frustrated but she works hard.  She just needs lots of hugs and encouragement.
   8.  She laughs ALL of the time and loves to wrestle her sister.
  9.  She still sleeps with her blanket and bears ( I love that, I think my sister was a college student before she gave hers up).

These were the Mummies I made for her birthday treats!  They were a hit with the girls at cheerleading tonight.  I found them on pinterest.  See link below. I didn't use the recipe, just the photo for decorating.

Carving Pumpkins

We had a lot of fun carving pumpkins last night... and to make it even sweeter, we got the pumpkins free from the grocery store up the road!  Lauren was not a fan of the "pumpkin boogers" and kept saying "I am freaking out right now".  Elise dug right in... go figure, I thought it would have been the other way around.   We saved some seeds so we are going to roast them tonight!

They're BAAaack....

The McAuley's came back up for another weekend so Matt could help Eric finish up the deck and I got to hang out with my sister and nephew Charlie.  It was a nice weekend.

Lauren giving Aunt Mollie a pedicure.. most of it made it on to the nails!

She was alternating pink and purple!

It was a chilly day but still good to catch some fresh air.  Neighbors Olivia and Natalie Freundl came over too.

Things were not going Charlie's way....

WE HAVE STEPS!!  These are just temporary but hey, we can get up and down now so that is great!

Charlie was mad he had to wait his turn to go up the slide...

Priceless. ( I know his mom didn't think this was at all funny but I sure did.)

Eric and Matt working on the last post for the railing.

Lauren didn't like being in the grasses... as you can see by her nice smile.

All of the kids signed their names to our steps.

That says "Olivia" and Lauren

This was funny, but Elise didn't think so.  She cried, she's just a tad bit sensitive.

Reading books to Aunty Mollie

I LOVE this kiddo!

Play time with Uncle Eric.

Water Park Birthday!

Elise's buddies for her 8th birthday party. Reese, Lauren, Paige, Elise and Natalie.  We stayed at the Ramada Inn for the night.  They have an indoor water park and it was a blast!

Elise takes the plunge on the slide!

Natalie's turn

Nothing beats a Happy Meal.. they scarfed their food down and I was worried that I didn't have more food... but cake and more swimming kept them occupied!

Early morning cartoons.

A breakfast buffet.... they were in heaven.. unlimited food, especially mini-muffins.

Reese and Lauren reading Tinker Bell.  Reese was excited there was timeback at the hotel to read.
